NATO has constantly evolved throughout its history to cope with the challenges of the day. For an organization of 29 Nations (soon to be 30) where all decisions are taken by consensus, change is a complex endeavor which requires sophisticated mechanisms and drive in order to keep the edge. Some of the tools are similar to the ones used in any other large multinational organization, but some are quite unique although they can be applied with minor adaptation to almost every environment.
This seminar explores NATO adaptation during the last four years as a handrail for the students to develop their own abilities in regard to change management, building on leadership, situational awareness, out-of-the box and analytical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills while they produce a strategic plan.
In addition, it will provide good understanding of the intricacies of NATO as an intergovernmental organization and a security provide. NATO, as any other International Organization is currently at a juncture where the global dynamics has been challenged by new and not so new actors and a more sophisticated approach to competition.
