Blockchains - an open-source distributed database using state-of-the-art cryptography – and the technology underpinning the cryptocurrency, could revolutionize the world economy. Blockchains may facilitate collaboration and tracking of all kinds of transactions and interactions. This technology could offer genuine privacy protection and a platform for truth and trust.

FIRST SEMESTER

Paolo Giancane

An investment banker with 20+year experience in corporate finance, M&A, and venture capital in the largest financial markets (New York, London, Hong Kong). Serial investor in tech and software startups and ecommerce early stage ventures. A cryptocurrency investor, directly and through a diversified active fund.

Skills

Students will be able to identify key features of the blockchains technology and how it may impact the business world through practical case studies. Students will get acquainted with risk vs. returns characteristics of both Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as other major cryptocurrencies. Students will also critically learn about current regulatory environment, the need for privacy protection, and the different avenues for getting exposure to cryptocurrencies’ potential return enhancement and risk diversification.
