POLITICAL RISK ANALYSIS FOR A TURBULENT WORLD
In an increasingly interdependent world countries have been following different economic and political strategies in their search for increased welfare. These different approaches have important implications for businesses, either when thinking of investing in a foreign country or when attempting to carry out export-import activities. The course will analyze how the world has evolved in the last decades and the meaning actually of Country and Political Risk. When the main exporter and economy in the world is China and the potential liquidity problems comes from OECD countries means that economic environment has changed drastically in the past decades.

The course is designed to provide students with an integrated perspective or the interaction between countries. The relation between countries has evolved in a more sophisticated and complicates operations where the main goal is not buying cheap in emerging countries, but being able to take a part on the increasing demand of the emerging middle class in the BRICs and other emerging economies The course will analyze cases alongside several different dimensions: Developed and developing economies and mainly the shifting wealth of nations or how some emerging economies had become lenders and drivers of developed economies quite opposite to what happened just two decades ago.
